Tuesday 7/28 Laser Racing Recap and Results
2020 Results to date: Laser Fleet and Elliot Fleet
26 Lasers, a new record! Unfortunately one boat had gudgeon failure (both) right away so only 25 raced but that's an official new record! The wind started light out of the North and thankfully a general recall in race one gave the wind the time it needed to fill in. We saw what's quickly becoming the standard for this season with a moderate to strong northerly offering some nice shifts and plenty of tactical decision making opportunities. The left (NW) seemed to pay more often than not but there were some big shifts including some big righties that made for one downwind leg to turn into a broad reach. Thank you to Wyatt Pike and Bob Lewis for running the races tonight. Tonight marks the end of the Spring series of racing. We were able to conduct 38 races this series. Due to so many nights of good wind, I believe that too is a new record. Congratulations to Paul Swan for returning from some paddling and winning the night! Congratulations goes to Tom Volbrecht for winning the Spring series with Will Warlick in second and Geoff Hurwitch in third. Tom and Will were battling for the series win last night, coming down to the wire. Next Tuesday marks the start of the Summer series.
