Welcome to Park City Sailing Camp! We offer sessions throughout the summer for kids ages 5-17.
We run Monday through Friday on the beautiful Jordanelle Reservoir.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY: Full refund (less processing fee) if cancelled 30 days prior to class start date, 50% refund (less processing fee) if cancelled 14 days prior to class start date. Sorry, we cannot issue refunds if cancelled less than 14 days before class start date.
RESCHEDULING POLICY: Rescheduling of registered weeks must be made no later than 72 hours before camp begins, or forfeiture of full camp value may occur.
COVID EXCEPTIONS: If a camper or household member is diagnosed with COVID-19 outside of the normal cancellation/refund policy timeframes PCSA will refund 50% of the registration fees.
CLASS SIZE MINIMUMS: A camp will be cancelled one week in advance if there aren’t at least two students registered. Parents will be notified at such time.

Guppies - ages 5-7
Guppies is a one-week program that meets in 3-hour classes daily - 9am-12pm OR 12:00pm- 3:00pm. Designed as a small group, introductory, hands-on class, the focus is on making kids comfortable in and around boats. Lots of games will be intermingled with beginner sailing with the goal of fun!
**Please only register for one session per day. Registrations with both morning and afternoon will be canceled.
Beginner Sailing All-Day (Pram)- ages 8-12
Our beginner pram course is for students, ages 8-12, who have little or no experience on the water, in sailboats, perhaps need a refresher and build confidence from a previous Beginner Class, or, they do not have a history of organized instruction experience. This class covers the fundamentals of how to rig, de-rig, care for boats and equipment, capsize recovery, understanding wind direction, and how to tack and gybe. Students are are also introduced to the different points of sail, and basic “rules of the road”. This course is taught in Zim Prams. (Ages 8-12)
Beginner Sailing All-Day (Club 420)- ages 13-17
Our all-day Beginner Club 420 course allows sailors in the 13-17 age range to start familiarizing themselves with the most competitive youth boat in the country. Skills taught include; how to rig, de-rig, caring for boats and equipment, capsize recovery, understanding wind direction, and how to tack and gybe. Students are also introduced to the different points of sail, and basic “rules of the road”. This course is an excellent pairing with a week of our Intro to Sailing for High-schoolers course. (Ages 13-17)
Intro to Sailing for High-Schoolers- ages 14-17
This course offers our basic introduction to sailing but is geared towards high school aged students passionate about sailing and interested in excelling quickly skills. Skills taught include; how to rig, de-rig, caring for boats and equipment, capsize recovery, understanding wind direction, and how to tack and gybe. Students are also introduced to the different points of sail, and basic “rules of the road”. This program also offers students an inroad to the newly formed high school team, and other racing and sailing opportunities through Park City Sailing. (Ages 14-17)
Intro to Racing (two-week course) - AGES 8-14
This two-week course is offered to our returning sailors interested in expanding their skill base and learning more about the world of racing. The SailPC team will be attending an event in mid-July in Dillon Colorado, which we hope to have all our intro to racing sailors attend. (Ages 8-14) (Prerequisite: 2 summers of beginner sailing and ability to rig, understand wind direction, tack and gybe, different points of sail, and “rules of the road”).
Intermediate All-Day (Tera) (Ages 10-14)
Intermediate Sailing is for students ages 10 through 14 who have completed at least two summers of beginner camp and are looking for broader sailing experience. There will be an emphasis on developing confidence and self-reliance in a mixture of weather conditions. Instructors will focus on building the students’ skills on RS Teras. They will learn and practice a variety of new concepts to include proper sail trim, roll tacking, and gybing. This class is taught for the sailor who is looking to learn advanced boat handling and racing techniques. (Ages 10-14) (Prerequisite: 2 summers of beginner sailing and ability to rig, understand wind direction, tack and gybe, different points of sail, and “rules of the road”).
Junior Race Team All Day- 5 weeks & 10 weeks- Ages 8-17
Race team is for kids who have demonstrated mastery of the sailing fundamentals and have completed Intermediate classes and want to take their passion for sailing to a new level. Race team will continue to refine boat handling and sail trim skills while adding more knowledge and use of the Racing Rules in Starting, Mark Rounding, Tacking, Gybing, and Boat-on-Boat tactics.
SAFETY & INFORMATION
sWIM TEST
While no formal swim test is required to participate in Park City Sailing, it is recommended that participants be able to swim without the aid of a life jacket. Participants are required to wear life jackets when participating in activities on or around the water.
lIFE JACKETS
Safety is of primary importance! Every child, regardless of age or class, is required to wear a Coast Guard-approved life vest at all times when on the docks and water. This rule also applies to free sailing and participation at away events. Park City Sailing will provide life jackets, but students can also bring their own.
conduct & discipline
There should be no rough play on the docks or on the grounds. Respect is essential for fellow members and boats. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Sailors and their families will be held accountable for lost or damaged equipment if it is deemed by staff to be reasonably preventable given the sailor’s ability level. If discipline is necessary, the Director reserves the right to require a student to leave the program for a certain period of time. The student’s parents will be notified immediately. Instructional staff & experience
Park City Sailing leverages the US Sailing Small Boat Instructor Program. Instructors are enabled to teach safely, effectively, and creatively with this program. Instructors are first aid & CPR certified.
