Sail Park City’s 2021 Fall Regatta was a blast!! Day 1 brought good wind in the morning mixed with some exciting, stormy sailing conditions. The adults got 4 solid races off and headed for shore as the rain picked up in the afternoon. The junior sailors toughed it out and kept sailing. This turned out well for them. Soon after a short rain spell, the clouds broke and the conditions turned perfect, and they got a total of 7 races in. On shore Wyatt Pike, Scott VerMerris, and Dave Staley played some live music while the sailors and spectators enjoyed the party overlooking the lake while waving the junior sailors in. Grassy Cow Food Truck was serving up burgers at the Lake View Center, drinks were on the house, there were good vibes all around!

Day 2 was sunny and the breeze was on! Laser sailors had work to do, sailing hard as the thermal pressure increased. The wind held strong into the afternoon allowing for back to back races all day. A sailor couldn’t ask for better conditions for racing. While there were some crashes and capsized boats at times, there were lot’s of smiles that came with it. It was an incredible day. It was hard to not be impressed with the youth contingent on the Laser course. A job well done toughing it out on the big course sailing lasers in the heavy air!
