6/18/20 Elliott Racing Recap
Last night was a five star night of Elliott racing, one for the books indeed! The Jordanelle saw some of the most consistent evening breeze the Wasatch has to offer. Wind in the teens kept sailing exciting and manageable all night. Big thanks to Race Committee Anne and David Rennie for getting racing going early and getting 5 long races off before dark, job well done!
It was the maiden voyage for our new designated Race Committee boat. This made things much more efficient allowing RC to set the course while newly authorized launch drivers could help shuttle teams out to the Elliotts using our other coach boats. Using this system, it’s safe to say we’re hitting our stride and if we keep going like this we will have a very good season. Thanks to all those who pitched in.
Congrats on the picket fence last night Jeff Kluge (and team Emily Augello and myself). It was a fun night of fleet battling, there was no shortage of action during mark roundings. Just a reminder to all racers; The most important rule of sailing of all is to AVOID CONTACT no matter the situation! Also remember that when there is contact there must be a protest. If anyone has questions about the rules please read up and feel free to ASK for a discussion. PCSA board members, and staff are here to answer questions and help the development of a healthy race fleet culture.
Great sailing everyone! Below are photos and a peak at the results from last night.
