Part 3 of Park City Sailing's Speaker Series

Part 3 of our speaker series with Mark Sunday from Oracle

Date: Thursday 4-27-17

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: The Jeremy Golf and Country Club 8770 Jeremy Rd. Park City 84098

Mark Sunday, the CIO of Oracle will be speaking about the upcoming America’s Cup and the disruptive technology that has been a part of this 166-year event. Mark will take us back in time to the days of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert right up until what is taking place on the waters of Bermuda Sound today.

During the months of May and June, five teams from around the world will compete to ultimately challenge the defender, Oracle Racing, to determine the winner of the 35th Americas Cup. This contest will be sailed in 50’ catamarans that use rotating wings instead of traditional sails. These 21st century boats are capable of literally skimming above the surface on foils at speeds that will approach 60 miles per hour.

Mark’s insider knowledge will enlighten the audience on what is about to become the most exciting sail boat racing ever. He will be bringing video and he will open the lecture to questions.

Mark will also be setting up a Skype session with Ian "Fresh" Burns from Oracle's design team to answer questions.

The Jeremy bar will be available to attendees as will the dining room. Admission is free. Members of Park City Sailing’s Board will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about their programs on the Jordanelle.

Please remember to turn your cell phones off during Mark’s talk!
