Park City Junior Sailors Conquer the Rockies!

PC JUNIOR SAILORS CONQUER THE ROCKIES!!!Dethorn, Polster and Rusconi shine at Jr. Olympics and Dillon Open

Dillon, CO –The Park City Sailing Race Team, under the direction of Head Coach, Cole Schreiber, road-tripped to Dillon, Colorado for back-to-back weekends to compete in the Rocky Mountain Junior Olympic Festival and the Dillon Open Regatta. In classic Lake Dillon on/off, shifty wind conditions, 10 Racers in the Optimist Dinghy Class competed in 6 races. Jack David of Community Sailing of CO got an impressive set of 6 straight bullets. Second and third places were just 1 point apart (among 3 racers) with Park City Racers Will Rusconi in 2nd with 15 points, and Morgan Dethorn tied for 3rd with 16 points. Another PC Racer, Tay Polster, in his first regatta, had an impressive showing. After an untimely capsize in the 50 degree water took him out of racing the first day, he came back strong the 2nd day with 2 and 4 finishes tying him for 2nd for the day. The following weekend at the Dillon Open, light air prevailed and only 1 race was able to finish in the Opti class. Again, Park City Sailors prevailed with Will Rusconi getting 1st and Morgan Dethorn 2nd. Congratulations to all our Park City Olympic medalists and competitors and coach Schreiber.

Stay tuned for the Fall Regatta, October 1st and 2nd. The Coloradans are promising payback when they road trip to the Jordanelle.
