2015 Fall Regatta & Laser No Coast Championships

A tremendous weekend of racing and camaraderie!!  We had a great turnout from as far away as Denver, Steamboat Springs and the four corners of Utah.  The race committee did a phenomenal job getting off 41 races for 31 boats in a variety of conditions.   Saturday saw a moderate southerly breeze that faded over the course of the day, finally being replaced by a 20+ knot northerly barn burner!  Sunday saw a 6-12 knot southerly that was puffy, shifty and really challenging.  Maybe some of the best sailing of the summer! It was especially nice to have such a great turnout from the Colorado programs.  It was a real family event with parents and kids sailing together and on different circles and added a great deal to the event.  I think it's safe to say this event went a long way towards solidify the relationship PCSA has with them.

A pretty picture.

The race committee kept the beats true and the lines square which required an awful lot of work.  Every time they need to move or set a mark, there's 300 feet of rode to attend to!!  No easy task.

Jeff and Lydia Kluge hosted a wonderful party at their house Saturday night with a nice barbeque dinner, beer from Wasatch Brewery and music by our own Wyatt Pike.

Very special thanks to PRO Tom Hagan and Bill Rusconi for heading up the two race circles.  Also big thanks to Chris Zavell for organizing the wonderful dinner at the Kluges.  And of course, thanks to the Kluges for opening their home to such a large group!  Helping on Race Committee were Board members Ken Block, Dave Staley, Bill Gillingham and Tom McLaughlin.  Other race committee helpers were Don Weiss, Cole Schreiber, Robert and Jeff Schultz.  Thanks to Chris Hartley and Buster Pike for the great T-Shirts!!
