2015 Laser Racing Is On!!
Night ONE of the 2015 Laser racing season is officially in the books with a pretty decent turnout of 14 boats. It was great to have quite a few new faces out there! A bunch of our regular stalwarts weren't able to remember how to find the Jordanelle but when they figure it out, I expect our numbers to be up quite a bit from last year – fantastic. We got three decent races off in a typical light and fluky westerly once we overcame our motor boat challenges. Geoff, Chase and Rhodes Hurwitch teamed up with Kathy Metcalf to set some great lines and nice square beats. Big thanks to them for their patience and perseverance! Dave Staley was good enough to check the water temperature and reports that it’s still pretty cold. Be sure to ask him for all the details (dave.staley@parkcitysailing.org).
A couple of logistics. First, look for a change in the SI’s. Our start time will change from 6:00 to 6:30 which is more in line with past practices. Secondly, please ensure you check the Race Committee Assignments so you either show up when you’re assigned, or arrange to swap with someone else if you have a conflict. Those of you that signed up late will be added to the schedule where we have openings towards the tail end of the season.
For those of you that missed last night………get your stuff together and see you on June 9th!
