As a non-profit, we make sure that the money we make goes back into our programs and our boats and often, big purchases are pushed aside. This year PC Sailing has worked to improve safety, environmental sustainability and everyone’s experience on the water. Everything has gone to our plan with the exception of the motor on our Boston Whaler Montauk 17. This boat is the work horse of our race program.
We expected to get through the 2016 season with the current motor but it has passed the point where it makes any financial sense to pour funds into keeping it running. We are faced with an emergency situation as we simply don’t have the funds to re-power it. The cost is approximately $9000. Several Board members have made generous pledges already but we are still quite a ways from paying for it. The motor has just been installed, but only due to a loan from one of our board members was this possible. As many of you may know Park City Sailing requires between a quarter to a third of our working capital in grants or donations to continue to provide our services to the community and hold the line on our fees. We must count on our membership to help in many ways. Every donation helps; $10, $20 and $50 per family across our membership goes a long way to make this happen. Thank you!
